Isadore™ Alpha1 underway
by Steve on Jan.10, 2010, under ITIL, Isadore™, Professional
Development of the Isadore application is coming along slowly, I realised that the colour scheme wasn’t consistent and so have redrawn the glyphs.
The layout is similar to that in the Microsoft™ System Center™ suite of applications, I am hoping that usage will be fairly intuitive.
Not sure whether to use webbrowser for the top menu (quick links) or a standard icon-driven interface.
ITIL – All about IT
by Steve on Jan.03, 2010, under ITIL, Professional
ITIL™ is a best-practice framework from the British Office of Government Commerce (OGC). It provides a framework for managing IT systems and infrastructures.
The ITIL articles are found at stevesutton.net/itil, which is a work in progress and aims to provide practical examples of IT management using ITIL™.
Google ITIL should you wish to find out the general concepts.
Isadore™ – History of the name
by Steve on Jan.03, 2010, under Isadore™, Professional
Isidore of Seville is the Patron saint of Computers, Isadore™ is a derivation of this.
Above all else, it is simply a unique name that can be attributed to this product!
Isadore™ – Conception

Isadore is my current software development project.
It is a feature rich ITIL™-based IT Management suite encompassing such features:
- Infrastructure Capacity Planning
- Product Life-cycle management
- Availability management
- Product portfolio management
- Licence tracking
- Change and Release Manageent
I am developing this on my own, so progress is relatively slow. The system is being developed in Borland Delphi and aims to be database agnostic. (I am prototyping using AccessDB [yuck] but serious development will support Oracle, MSSQL and MySQL. I expect to release the whole system using an embedded MySQL deployment.
